Life is always full of pain, everywhere that you look you can see it. So I became a person passionate about seeing love, life and happiness. In everything possible. For me, this year was full of A LOT of pain. The pain of a tumultuous end to grad school, the pain of me gaining weight due to the stress and having to refocus on loving myself. I put forth a lot of passion into keeping my mind strong. But I would be foolish to not talk about the amount of pleasure I experienced.
Growing up as a plussize tomboy, I don’t think anyone expected me to step into my feminine power the way that I did. And to be honest, sometimes even I’m shocked.
Buuut, even into my adulthood, I was way too shy to wear lingerie for anyone other than myself.
But lemme tell you, deciding to package your body in some beautiful lace, or any type of hot lingerie can add some intensity and passion in the bedroom and secretly be very empowering for you as a woman. Wearing lingeri
Over on my Instagram page, there was a TON of love showed to this outfit! Which makes me happy, because this is the type of look I would definitely wear! I'm ALL about a great fitting pair of jeans, a shirt that has a spin off of traditional and shoes that bring the whole look together :) I did a poll earlier this week, and 92% people voted for me to create a blog about this look to showcase where everything is from- so here it is! I have two sides. 1. Extra Glam Rae 2. Raggedy Ann but comfortable Rae With Raggedy Ann but comfortable Rae, I’ve been mistaken as homeless before. I have a few go-to, clearly worn in sweatpants, sweat shirts, ex’s basketball shorts and less than crisp t-shirts that I wear when I know I’m going to just be sitting in the house, have had a long day, am just getting back from a shoot or really have no choice but to put on clothes even when I don’t want to. I’m not proud to admit
The first encounter isn’t normally that bad. You may receive a lot of compliments or smiles. If you make it to a first actual date, you may receive a lot more smiles directly from him, or even catch him staring at it in amazement. I know I can’t be the only one who has caught him staring, right? I’m talking about my hair- get your mind outta the gutter! I often wear my hair in the style that a gig has requested it in, which is usually long or curly. As sometimes, I’m just too
I can’t tell you how often people try to explain the difference between what’s appropriate to put on social media versus what is not. Or what’s appropriate for a woman to wear versus what is not. I remember when I first became interested in lingerie- as if it were taboo for a larger sized woman to want flattering and pretty undergarments; I immediately received comments like :
“Are you really going to wear that?”
“People are going to think you’re begging for attention”
Am I the only who feels like I only see beautiful black women on the outside of salons, in music videos scantily clad and playing the Angry Black Woman in Tyler Perry plays?? I hate talking about race and color, but in the last 12 years I've had the opportunity to grow up with a special little girl (my niece), who can't seem to grasp that she's a beautiful black girl because the majority of the images she sees do not represent the different ways that blackness looks. It's the
I've talked about moving and living in New York at least since I was 14. I dreamed of being in the city and modeling and falling in love under the stars. A year ago, I officially moved away from home to attend NYU for my graduate degree. People thought I was kidding, and when I did it- people thought I wouldn't last. Being in New York has increased my hustle, my drive and my ability to bounce back from rejection. I'd like to think I've adopted a bit of the New York mentality
