My name’s Rae Williams, I’m a PR graduate student at NYU, an experienced and international model, and a blogging newbie! I’ve been a writer my entire life, in fact I wrote my first poetry book a few years ago and self-published, and my undergraduate degree is in English- Creative Writing. So, this blog serves as a place for me to put all things that I love together. Health, fitness, traveling, fashion and lifestyle. I’m excited to begin this journey, and am looking forward to sharing with you guys!
What You Can Expect:
A little about Fitness – Over the last 3 years, I’ve lost 75 lbs, gained 8 lbs of lean muscle mass with Herbalife Nutrition and have gone from prediabetic to (slightly) curvy and fit. I’m not a total meat- head though, I still enjoy the occasional night out with tequila, Taco Tuesday and ice-cream! I’ve learned that it’s a lot more about your mental health than the number on the scale, and although I believe health is wealth, I’m not here to preach to you about being on restrictive diets. I'll share some of my workouts, meal prep ideas I use and just how I keep up with my "healthy active lifestyle".
A little about traveling – Last year (2016), I had the opportunity to go to Antigua and Barbuda for a few days. It was such an eye-opening experience, 1) because I went with strangers and 2) because we spent most of our days with natives, doing non-touristy things. While there, we experienced disrupted water service- which interrupted showers and was something that the locals deal with regularly. This year, I’ve gone to Canada for a modeling gig (my first international gig) and California twice so far for castings and shoots. I’m thrilled for August- I’ll be going to Aruba for a week, and then on my first 7 day cruise with one of my best friends. And then in March 2018 I’ll be embarking on a week journey to Ghana! EEK- I’m excited thinking about it and would love to invite you virtually to witness the shenanigans!
A little about fashion – I’m a little embarrassed to say that after modeling for 10 years, I’m only just now coming into my own sense of style. I’m definitely into the athleisure fashions right now, because I love being comfortable and looking cute, but I also really love dressing up! It’s been an interesting journey shopping for myself outside of photoshoots and the things I wear on set. It will be a fun journey of mixing and matching things to figure out what I like and what looks good on me! The one thing that I've really gotten into since becoming mentally and physically healthier is lingerie. I find that it's empowering for me, and a way that I embrace my body and love for myself. You'll see the goods first if you stay tuned for the dramatics ;P
A little about lifestyle – Like many of us, I wear a million different hats at one time. I work part-time as a merchandiser and brand ambassador for a produce company, I model part-time, I’m a part-time Herbalife health coach, I go to grad school full-time and now I’m starting to blog! We won’t even go into the personal hats that I wear, because I’m sure you get the drift! With all that goes on, I’ll be using my blog to share how I stay on track, what’s new and some tips on how to not get overwhelmed with everything happening in our day to day lives that have worked for me! I hope you’ll join me, and maybe be a little entertained while you learn something new!
